In a press release issued by the Venezuelan Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, the Venezuelan Government said that August 19, 1945, was a historic milestone reflecting the will and determination of the Vietnamese people, that demonstrated to the world their indomitable spirit and steadfast resolve to master their own destiny.

The Venezuelan Government said Vietnam and Venezuela have similar views at international forums, and support multilateralism and South-South cooperation. Venezuela has consistently supported Vietnam on international issues.

As a member of multiple international organizations and forums, Venezuela plays an important role in promoting relations between Vietnam and Latin American countries, while Vietnam serves as a bridge between Venezuela and Asia, and ASEAN member states in particular. The Venezuelan Government said it wants to strengthen its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.
