During their meeting at Chequers, in Buckinghamshire, England, Prime Minister Starmer called the deal “groundbreaking” and said the deal and investment commitments break all records.

“What a day, 250 billion pounds (340 billion USD) flowing both ways across the Atlantic,” Starmer said. “It is the biggest investment package of its kind in British history by a country mile.”

Starmer said US companies had pledged 150 billion pounds (204 billion USD) in investment in the United Kingdom. Quantum computing fusion, 6G, and civil nuclear energy are at the center of the deal with investment commitments from leading tech companies like Nvidia, Nscale, OpenAI, Google and Salesforce. 15,000 jobs are expected to be created as a direct result of the investments.

President Trump and Prime Minister Starmer took reporters’ questions on the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the situation in Ukraine. Trump said one of his “few disagreements” with Starmer is over the UK’s pledge to recognize Palestinian state. He asked European countries to "stop buying oil from Russia".
