This was the latest US-UK attack against Houthi military positions in retaliation against Houthi attacks on commercial vessels crossing the Red Sea, disrupting shipping operations along this important maritime route.
The Greek-owned merchant ship Zography was hit by a missile on Tuesday while crossing the Red Sea heading north, 76 nautical miles northwest of the Yemeni port of Saleef.
European diplomats announced that European Union members support a proposal to establish a naval mission to protect commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
They underscored the importance of launching the mission no later than February 19. The mission will coordinate with other concerned countries to prevent disruption of this key trade route.
