The Taliban movement has taken control of Afghanistan since last August. As political instability has exacerbated the migration of Afghans, a number of governments and organizations have provided diverse assistance to the people affected by the mounting security, economic and humanitarian crisis.
70% of Afghan households are unable to meet the basic necessities of life. About 22.8 million million Afghans - that is more than half the country's population - now face hunger and an estimated 3 million children are at risk of malnutrition.
