The deployment will be postponed until fiscal 2020, said the Pentagon, without giving a reason for the delay. The US announced in May, 2015, that it will deploy three units of the transport aircraft, mainly for special operations, at Yokota in the second half of 2017, and seven more by 2021. At a press conference in Tokyo, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said the government was informed about the delay but is still seeking more information.
