(VOVworld) – The US refusal to issue a visa to Iran’s pick for UN ambassador Hamid Aboutalebi is not impacting talks over Tehran’s disputed nuclear program, Washington’s envoy to the United Nations said Sunday.

In an interview with ABC’s “This Week” program, US envoy Samantha Power said Washington will still send its representatives to daily negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group (the US, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany). Power said that last week’s meeting took place as planned and reached satisfactory result. A number of high-level talks are planned for next month.
