Edgard Kagan, Senior Director for East Asia and Oceania at the National Security Council (NSC) will reportedly meet with senior officials from Yoon's transition committee during the trip to coordinate details of the summit.

South Korea wants US President Joe Biden to visit South Korea before going to Japan, from May 20 to 21, which is a few days after Yoon Suk-yeol takes office on May 10.
