President Barack Obama dismissed North Korea's release of two imprisoned Americans as "small gestures"

Obama told reporters in Beijing that the US has been consistent in saying that when and if North Korea becomes serious about denuclearization and is prepared to have a conversation on that topic, then the US is going to be very open to try to arrive at a solution. He added that more should be done by Pyongyang to improve ties.

Obama’s statement followed North Korea’s release of two American prisoners on Saturday. Analysts believe their release was an attempt by Pyongyang to improve relations with Washington.
