Hegseth summoned all senior US officers with the rank of brigadier general or higher to the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia. Approximately 800 generals and admirals, accompanied by their aides, are on the attendance list. President Donald Trump is also expected to attend the meeting. 

Although the US Department of War has not announced an agenda, multiple sources say the main focus will be on explaining Hegseth’s concept of “the warrior ethos”.

The meeting might address two other topics: the administration’s soon-to-be-released National Defense Strategy and a potential downsizing of the general officer corps and consolidation of certain commands.
