(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday began his 5th Asia tour since taking office last February. He will visit the Republic of Korea, China, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates.

In his first leg in Seoul, Kerry discussed broader cooperation to address the nuclear program of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and China’s Air Defense Identification Zone in the East China Sea.
He will then travel to Beijing for talks with Chinese leaders about US-China cooperation in climate change and clean energy. He plans to reiterate Washington’s intention to pursue comprehensive cooperation with Beijing and urge it to act responsibly in global issues.
His next destination will be Jakarta where Kerry will co-chair a meeting of the joint committee of the US-Indonesia comprehensive partnership mechanism and meet with the ASEAN Secretary General.
His last stop will be Abu Dhabi, where he will touch upon bilateral relations and the Middle East peace process including the Syrian civil war.
