Exports to the United States totaled 4.6 billion USD, an increase of 11.6% and accounted for 55.6% of total export value. The US remains the largest export market for Vietnam’s wood industry, followed by Japan and China.

According to the Import-Export Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the steady growth in the US market reflected a recovery in consumer demand for furniture. Among the products exported to the US, wooden furniture dominated, accounting for 85.7% of the total export value to this market in the first five months of the year. Wooden frame chairs were the leading export item, earning nearly 1.2 billion USD, an increase of almost 15% year-on-year, and ranking as the fourth fastest-growing product in the group.

Wood is one of Vietnam’s five largest export sectors, generating over 14 billion USD annually. Businesses are actively investing in technology, green transformation, and traceability systems to meet increasingly stringent standards from the US and international markets.
