Speaking at a joint media conference after talks with Jordan's King Abdullah at Sunnylands retreat in California on Saturday, Obama said the Syrian civil war a central focus of their talks. He said that there are going to be some immediate steps that the US has to take to help the humanitarian assistance there." Obama added they are going to be continuing to work with all the parties concerned to try to move forward on a diplomatic solution.

Obama also informed a plan to provide 1 billion USD loan guarantees for Jordan to deal with more than 600,000 Syrian refugees. He said the US will extend a five-year agreement, which expires in September and has been providing Jordan with 660 million USD a year.
