(VOVWORLD) - Trade talks between the US and China in Beijing were productive, said US President Donald Trump shortly after a meeting with his trade team at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Saturday.

Trump said on Twitter that US current tariffs are being paid by China. China’s vice premier and chief trade negotiator, Liu He, and US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer are to lead the next round of talks next week in Washington. US duties on 200 billion USD worth of Chinese imports are set to rise from 10% to 25% if no deal is reached by March 1.
