South Korea’s Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS) said on Thursday that the US will try to revive negotiations to keep the nuclear issue under control. President Trump needs diplomatic achievements prior to the presidential election in 2020, it said. INSS noted the US wants to persuade Kim Jong-un not to warn the world that North Korea is on “a new path” in his upcoming New Year speech.
