US media highlights Vietnam-US relations prior to President Obama’s visit

(VOVworld) – The Wall Street Journal ran an article entitled “Obama aims to deepen ties on Asia trip. It said “Mr. Obama will spend 3 days in Vietnam, an unusually long presidential visit for a single country that is intended to show the US’s interest in expanding ties”.

The newspaper quoted Jonathan London, an expert on Vietnam and professor at the City University of Hong Kong, China, saying President Obama’s visit is the final step of the decade-long peace process.

The Los Angeles Times said for President Obama, the visit to Vietnam and Japan sends a message that peace process requires effort and time.

Meanwhile, the CNN reported that  during the visit, President Obama will witness a country which is developing rapidly and enhancing relations with the US.
