US Congressman Matt Salmon
(VOVworld) – A delegation of US congressmen led by Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific under the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Matt Salmon met the media on Thursday. Salmon expressed his satisfaction with the results of his Vietnam visit over the last 4 days. Concerning the Trans-pacific Partnership Agreement he said he supported ratification of the agreement, adding that the US is considering giving the President fast track authority to accelerate negotiation and signing of the agreement. Salmon said of the 12 negotiating countries Vietnam could benefit the most from this agreement.
The delegation met with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan and held working sessions with a number of Vietnamese agencies.
