Ross told the Fox Business Network during a televised interview that it has to be the right deal, and it doesn’t have to be in November. He said it’s more important to have a “proper deal” than an exact completion date. He also said that December tariffs and Huawei will not be part of the initial deal.
Ross’s statement came after President Donald Trump said he would like to sign the deal when he meets President Xi Jinping at next month’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Chile.
