(VOVworld) – US President Donald Trump met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday in Florida to explain the US’s position on the deployment of the US Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) in South Korea.

The two leaders held in-depth discussions on North Korea’s nuclear problem and response measures. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said President Trump has asked President Xi to do more to curb North Korea’s nuclear programs.

Trump praised the significant progress in relations between the US and China, while Xi urged the US to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and investment. Xi said China and the US should promote trade and investment in a stable way and boost negotiations in bilateral trade deal.
