(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang has said that US businesses are Vietnam’s top partners. He was speaking at a reception for Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council and Chairman of the ACE Group Evan Greenberg and a number of US businesspeople in Hanoi on Tuesday.

President Sang praised the US-ASEAN Business Council for encouraging its members to invest in Vietnam and promoting cooperation between US agencies and Vietnam within the WTO framework and TPP negotiations. He said that Vietnam would create favorable conditions for businesses from the US and ASEAN countries to invest in Vietnam. He asked the Council to consult Vietnamese ministries and agencies in dealing with institutional shortcomings.

For his part, Evan Greenberg praised Vietnam’s efforts to improve its investment environment and hoped that Vietnam would join the TPP agreement as this would be an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen cooperation with US and other foreign partners. He also pledged to continue persuading US businesses to invest in Vietnam.

During talks the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the government of Vietnam will always create favorable conditions for foreign business including those from the US to invest in Vietnam.
