US Assistant Secretary to tour Vietnam, northeast Asia

The tour of Vietnam, China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan will explore space security, missile defense, arms control, and other  security topics. While in Hanoi on July 13-14, Mr. Rose will visit the Vietnam National Satellite Centre and meet with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on issues related to space security and multilateral arms control. Before that, he will stop in Beijing, from July 6-9 for discussions on mutual strategic interests with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese National Space Agency. From July 9-10, Mr. Rose will be in Seoul, where he will meet with senior officials of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss space security and other strategic issues. He will conclude his travels in Tokyo from July 14-16, meeting with Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and Cabinet Office on ways to bolster cooperation built upon a US-Japan partnership spanning seventy years.
