She said the brutality of violations and abuses demands proper investigations and accountability for what has been unfolding in Ethiopia over the past year.

Her statement followed a joint investigation by the United Nations and Ethiopia into infringements of human rights in Tigray. A report on the investigation warned that infringements committed on all sides might amount to crimes against humanity.
