UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations Hoang Kim Phung.

Lacroix said he was impressed by Vietnam’s success in UN peace keeping activities and pledged to promote his role as a bridge to further strengthen the UN-Vietnam cooperation, especially in UN peacekeeping.

He praised the Department for chairing and coordinating with international partners to successfully organise international training courses on peacekeeping, towards the goal of becoming a regional-class peacekeeping training centre.

Director of the Department Maj. Gen. Hoang Kim Phung stated that Vietnam has sent more than 500 officers and soldiers to UN peacekeeping missions.
