She told the press on Wednesday that UN members need effective measures to address the situation, adding that she had discussions with the military in Myanmar about measures to help stabilize the situation. The United Nations Security Council will meet behind  closed doors on Friday as the situation in Myanmar gets more complicated.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that Moscow is willing to cooperate with ASEAN to seek peaceful solutions to the situation in Myanmar.
