UN Security Council discusses cyberspace stability

(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council on Friday held an online meeting, involving 50 countries to discuss cyber space stability, conflict prevention and capacity building.

The participants stressed the need to build a safe, stable and peaceful cyber space in line with international laws, including the UN Charter. They also called for stronger capacity building and management of the cyber space, foster international cooperation, and share experiences in cyber space protection.

Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Head of the Vietnamese mission to the United Nations, said Vietnam supports a safe, friendly, open and stable cyber space for the benefits of countries and people, thus contributing to maintaining peace and security in the world. Mr. Quy said sharing cyber security, and enhancing cooperation to build capacity to deal with cyber problems are priorities of Southeast Asian countries.
