UN pledges support for Vietnam’s transition to green economy

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam treasures the UN’s central role and wants to promote comprehensive cooperation with the UN, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told UN Secretary General António Guterres during a meeting on Tuesday at the UN climate change conference in Glasgow.

Mr. Chinh renewed Vietnam’s strong commitment to combating climate change.

The UN Chief praised Vietnam’s participation in international issues including climate change response and UN peacekeeping activities.

He applauded Vietnam’s commitment to net zero emissions by 2050 and said the UN is ready to support Vietnam’s transition to a green, circular economy and renewable energy development.
