By secret ballot, the Assembly elected Albania, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burundi, China, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malawi and the Netherlands. All 15 members will serve three-year terms beginning on January 1, 2024.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, sent a congratulatory message to the new members and expressed his wish that, together with Vietnam, a member of the Human Rights Council, they will promote cooperation in protecting and promoting human rights.
