UN chief meets UN-Arab League peace envoy

United Nations chief Ban Ki Moon and UN-Arab League peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi held talks about Syria last Saturday, agreeing the crisis was a steadily increasing threat to regional peace and stability. The international community’s 18-month effort to halt the 18 months of bloodshed in Syria have failed to make any headway.  Fighting continued through the weekend. Ban and Brahimi expressed their hope that a solutions will be found during the 67th session of the UN General Assembly.
