(VOVWORLD) - Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak believes that the information provided by Russia about an allegedly Ukrainian Buk missile, which shot down flight MH17 over Donbas in 2014, shows that Moscow has not abandoned its plans to aggravate the situation.

At a briefing after a meeting with British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson in Kyiv on Monday, the Minister said the information is another fake from Russia.

Earlier the same day, the Russian military said the missile that shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, killing all 298 people on board, came from the arsenals of the Ukrainian army, not from Russia. Lt Gen Nikolai Parshin, chief of the Missile and Artillery Directorate at the Russian defence ministry said that the Russian archives show that the missile made from these parts was transported to a military unit in western Ukraine in 1986, and to Russia’s knowledge, never left Ukraine.
