Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang made the statement at a working session with British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Indo-Pacific Seema Malhotra at the headquarters of the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on Tuesday, part of the Vietnamese official’s working visit to the UK.

Ms. Seema Maholtra affirmed that the UK considers Vietnam a key partner in the Asia–Pacific region and looks forward to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam — particularly in political and diplomatic relations, security, trade, finance, education, energy transition, and sustainable development.

Both sides also highlighted the importance of economic, trade, and investment cooperation, capitalizing on the UK–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

They agreed to promote collaboration in science and technology, innovation, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges, further consolidating the growing partnership between the two countries.
