Detective Stuart Hooper, the chief investigator, said finding and speaking to the Hughes brothers is crucial to the investigation. Police believe they are in Northern Ireland but they also have links to the Republic of Ireland. He asked the people to provide any information about their whereabouts.

British media said Ronan Hughes appeared in a trucking magazine 3 years ago as the owner of a logistics company which had 9 trucks, 6 employees, and operated regularly in Sweden, Denmark, Italy, the UK, and the Republic of Ireland.
