During a reception for Ambassador Bader Abdullah Almatrooshi, PM Chinh said Vietnam hopes to soon receive the first shipment of crude oil from the UAE.
Ambassador Almatrooshi reaffirmed the UAE’s strong commitment to supporting Vietnam in ensuring energy security, noting that he is processing Vietnam’s request for oil and gas supply in line with its needs, with deliveries expected to be made safely and on time.
PM Chinh expressed Vietnam’s deep concern over recent developments in the UAE in particular and the Middle East in general, which have resulted in civilian casualties, damage to infrastructure, and serious impacts on global economic and energy markets. He reiterated Vietnam’s consistent stance that disputes must be resolved through peaceful means, including dialogue and negotiation, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter, while condemning attacks on civilians.
The ambassador said he is encouraging UAE businesses to invest in Vietnam’s international financial center and work toward raising bilateral trade to 10 billion USD. He also supported the launch of direct cargo flights for Vietnamese goods to help reduce costs and ensure stable supply chains.
