According to a statement by UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the swap, a significant step towards humanitarian reconciliation efforts, included 150 prisoners from each side.

The UAE has facilitated a total of 12 successful mediations between Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of 2024. A total of 2,883 prisoners of war have been exchanged between the two countries under the UAE's mediation efforts.

The ministry expressed its satisfaction at the cooperation between Russia and Ukraine and reiterated the UAE's commitment to a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
