(VOVworld) - 5 people were injured in a car bomb explosion near a military base in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday.

The explosion occurred with Turkey already on high security alert. The Dogan News Agency said the car exploded in the Sancaktepe district, on the Asian side of Istanbul.
