9 people have been arrested in Turkey in connection with twin car bombings that killed at least 46 people and wounded more than 100 people in a town close to the Syrian border, said Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Ataly on Sunday. All 9 are Turkish. Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Guler, said one of the 9 people arrested was the mastermind. Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said these suspects attacked Banias city a week ago, killing at least 62 people. Deputy Prime Minister Alay said the preliminary investigation suggested that Syria’s Military Intelligence Directorate may be connected to the attack. Damascus immediately denied the accusation and called it “unproved”.
