About half of respondents – 52% – agreed that increasing tariffs on autos and auto parts, part of the new tariff push Trump unveiled on Wednesday, will hurt people close to them, and about the same percentage said that boosting tariffs will do more harm than good.
Only 34% of respondents in the poll approved of Trump's handling of foreign policy, down from 37% in the March 21-23 Reuters/Ipsos poll. 48% of respondents approved of Trump's handling of immigration.
A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found that 49% of registered voters approved of Trump’s job performance, down from 52% who said the same last month and compared with 46% who disapproved.
