Trump said that additional tariffs on Chinese goods will go into effect immediately if the Chinese president does not attend this month’s G20 meeting. Trump said he believes the US and China will reach a trade agreement.

Trump’s threatening came after Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said in a statement that China is ready to hold more trade negotiations with the US, but did not mention talks between the two leaders at the G20 summit.
