Mr. Bessent will be joined by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Trump wrote on Truth Social. This is the second round of trade negotiations aimed at resolving tariff-related issues between the world’s two largest economies.

President Trump’s announcement came a day after he held a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping. This was the first time the two leaders have talked on the phone since a series of retaliatory tariffs began in February.
