(VOVworld) – Syrian forces and Kurdish fighters have reached a truce in the volatile province of Hasakah in northeastern Syria.

The three-point agreement was reached on Sunday following mediation by Russia and Iran. The agreement includes the cessation of fighting, evacuation of wounded people, a return to the previous lines of both parties, and the start of negotiations. The ceasefire started as of 5 p.m. on Sunday, together with transporting the wounded to hospitals in the city of Qamishli in Hasaka. But a military source said Kurdish forces in Hasaka had rejected the agreement, adding that negotiations would continue on Monday.
