(VOVWORLD) - Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin co-chaired the 3rd session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Moscow on Monday, highlighting parliamentary cooperation as a highly important pillar that has been developing unceasingly.

Volodin said that the session discussed solutions to develop the overall relationship between the two countries. In terms of economy, the two countries strive to reach a trade turnover of 15 billion USD by 2030.

This session, along with the 4th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee to be held in Vietnam, focuses on many issues, such as increasing trade turnover, financial cooperation, health, agriculture, science and technology, culture, and tourism.

National Assembly Chairman Man said that the 3rd meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee is very important for the two sides to promote stronger future cooperation.

“In addition to traditional areas of cooperation, the two countries discussed cooperation in agricultural product export, air transport, digital economy, cyberspace management, intellectual property, user data protection, digitalization of public administration, multimedia communications, intellectual sports, digital education, clean energy, and nuclear energy for peaceful purposes,” said Man.
