Chairman Hue said the Bulgarian parliament’s ratification of the EU‑Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) right before his visit to Bulgaria is a meaningful gesture which shows their respect for relations between the two countries and creates a solid legal foundation for Vietnamese and Bulgarian businesses to expand investment cooperation.
National Assembly President Zhelyazkov underlined Chairman Hue’s visit, saying it marked a new step in bilateral ties. He proposed both sides consider establishing joint ventures for manufacturing products that the two countries need or can export for profit.
The two leaders agreed to increase exchanges of delegations and to enhance mutual support at regional and global forums such as the UN, the EU, and ASEAN. They agreed that all disputes and conflicts should be resolved by peaceful means on the basis of international law and the UN Charter.
“I believe that my visit will be a success, contributing to the development of the two National Assemblies but also to elevating Vietnam-Bulgaria ties to a new height,” Chairman Hue told reporters after the talks.
