“Planning should precede the restructuring of land for industrial production. Hau Giang should become an industrial and logistic hub of the Mekong Delta by 2050,” he told provincial leaders during a working session on Tuesday.
Chairman Hue asked Hau Giang to focus on developing advanced industry, smart city technology, and ecological agriculture associated with adapting to climate change, and regional connectivity.
Mr. Hue said he is impressed with the strong development of Hau Giang, which he described as a “bright spot” of Vietnam’s economic panorama thanks to a growth rate continuously higher than the national average.
The province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased 13.94% in 2022 and 13.3% in the first nine months of 2023. Per capita income has risen by over 15% annually, statistics show.
