General Secretary and President Lam said his first State visit to China in his new position was made to discuss with Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other key Chinese leaders measures to deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and build a Vietnam-China community with a shared future of strategic significance. Vietnam, he said, always attaches importance and gives top priority to developing relations with China.
“I’m so happy to see that the people-to-people exchange relationship between the two countries, between border provinces, sister provinces, sectors, localities, and the Vietnamese community is thriving, and the lives of people are improving. I hope the community will continue to unite, contribute more to the development process of the host country, and strengthen the good relationship between the two countries,” he said.
Mr. Lam asked the Vietnamese Embassy to deploy existing cooperation mechanisms more effectively and propose new cooperation mechanisms suitable to the specific conditions of each country, benefiting both countries in accordance with international law.
Earlier, Mr. Lam and his wife offered flowers at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh at the embassy complex in Beijing.
