Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith said Vietnam has received praise as a nation with stable growth and remarkable progress, achieved thanks to the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Trong, who applied the correct socio-economic development guidelines of his predecessors.

"Vietnam is growing, people's lives are improving day by day. This is very important. Under the resolute, correct, and precise leadership and the guidelines and policies that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong put forward, this is a valuable gift that Mr. Trong left for the Party, State, and Vietnamese people," said Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith.

He said General Secretary Trong had a deep theoretical and practical understanding of Vietnam’s socio-economic development. Mr. Trong had conducted intensive research into Marxism-Leninism and the path to socialism, and applied Ho Chi Minh Thought in his leadership of a constantly growing Vietnam.

The Lao Party leader and President said he had studied the deeds and writings of General Secretary Trong and found them well-researched and highly practical. He said the theoretical and practical research of Mr. Trong is a valuable heritage of the Communist Party of Vietnam and worthy of the world’s study.

"I exchanged with, worked with, and discussed with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong countless times. After each meeting, I wanted to meet him again and talk to him some more, because his way of talking was familiar to Lao people. What he said reflected his openness, straightforwardness, and respect for others, in the truest sense of being true comrades and brothers," said Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith.
