The event which runs until next Monday aims to create momentum for local tourism to thrive. The program includes exhibitions, fairs, cuisine festivals, art and music performances, sport events, latern floating, and a forum on tourism start-ups. At the festival’s opening ceremony on Friday in My Tho city, Tran Thanh Duc, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang province’s People’s Committee, said: “The festival not only highlights the socio-economic achievements of Tien Giang but also promotes its tourism potentials. This year we organize latern floating and a boat parade to introduce the unique tourism products as well as the culture of the Mekong Delta region”.
