The protests resumed after a two-week pause due to the conflict between Israel and Iran. Organizers of the main rally at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv put out a statement ahead of the event calling for people to attend “in the wake of the operation in Iran and the historical window of opportunity” to reach a deal.
International media have reported on efforts by Israel and the US to end the conflict in Gaza within the coming weeks through a deal that could bring back all 50 remaining hostages, although no official confirmation has been given by the Israeli government.
Earlier, on Thursday, the first protest since the outbreak of hostilities with Iran took place at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv, drawing thousands of participants.
