(VOVworld) – The US will invest about 33 billion USD in Africa between now and 2018. It was an important announcement at the 1st US-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington.
Speaking at a press conference to conclude the summit, President Barack Obama said the African people should know that they will always have the US as a powerful and reliable partner. He promised that the US will expand cooperation with Africa in economics, healthcare, fighting human trafficking, and dealing with terrorism threats. He said the US government and businesses will exert more effort to change relations with Africa from giving and receiving humanitarian aid to an equal economic partnership of mutual benefit.
