The United Nations Security Council will convene a meeting next week to discuss the escalating tension between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip. Representatives of Israel and Palestine are expected to take part in the closed door session. Egypt has urged the United Nations Security Council to meet after Israel had carried out more than 20 air raids and artillery firing from the sea into the Gaza Strip, killing a Hamas military commander. A Palestine’s representative at the UN said that at least 9 people were killed during Wednesday attacks.
