Statistics show that the industrial sector remains the backbone of the province’s economy. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) rose by 11.77% in the third quarter compared to the same period last year, bringing the nine-month increase to 9.45%.
Several sectors saw double-digit growth, including garments, metals, rubber and plastics, and motor vehicles. These results show local businesses’ efforts to keep production steady, expand, and boost efficiency, supporting sustainable growth in the province.

In the past nine months, Thai Nguyen’s total trade reached over 38.7 billion USD. Exports hit 23.7 billion USD, up 8.23% year-on-year, keeping the province 6
th nationwide. The FDI sector remained the main driver, growing 8.35% and leading local exports. In the first nine months, Thai Nguyen approved 16 new FDI projects worth 169.8 million USD.
Most focus on manufacturing, electronics, precision engineering, and supporting industries, helping diversify and expand local production. These results highlight Thai Nguyen’s strong economic recovery and reaffirm its role as an industrial and export hub in the northern midland and mountainous region.
