Ms. Yingluck was answering reporters’ questions over the issue, stressing that regular meetings with army leaders could prevent misunderstanding and violence. However, Ms. Yingluck refused to comment on a time frame to end the current political instability in Thailand and called on all parties to join national stabilization and reform efforts. She also confirmed that her brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, has nothing to do with the current crisis and her government.
The same day, General Prayut affirmed that the Thai army remains neutral in the current political crisis, urging related parties to seek peaceful solutions instead of confrontation.
