(VOVworld) - The head of the British intelligence agency MI6, Alex Younger has said the scale of the terrorism threat to the UK is "unprecedented”, according to the BBC.

Mr. Younger said UK intelligence and security services have disrupted 12 terrorist plots since June, 2013, adding that many of the threats came from ungoverned spaces in the Middle East – namely, Iraq and Syria. Mr. Younger warned that "hybrid warfare", which includes cyber-attacks and subverting democracy, is becoming an "increasingly dangerous phenomenon". Younger said that despite the upheaval of Brexit and the surprise election of Donald Trump, he expected Britain’s security ties with Europe and the US to only get stronger.
